Drupal login problem

Has anyone run into a problem logging into their site? When you log in, there is no error, but the login box remains and you still aren't logged in. I've researched it and apparently it's not that uncommon, and there are a ton of things to try, but I'm afraid it's too geek for me. There are patches, but I don't understand how to use a patch, do you just paste it at the head of the file that it's for? Here's the info you may need in order to help me:

Problem site: http://youngadult.mycfcog.org
I'm not having trouble with this next site, but another user is: http://www.get2thepoint.info

Link on Drupal to discussion:

Possible patch I don't know how to use:

Problems are on both Firefox and Explorer.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

ah boy

This is one of those strange things that has popped up. What version of drupal, what contrib modules, what OS, what php version, and what other info can you provide?

Also, did you do anything to the settings.php file or is it the one drupal generated on this version?

I'm not sure if the linked issues are your problem. They pertain to something like www.example.com/site1 and www.example.com/site2 where both the sites are separate drupal sites.

Site info

Drupal version 5.1
PHP 5.2.1

As of when the problem started I had not installed any modules.

Both computers are Windows XP.

I use WestHost and am able to share hosting between multiple sites. I have 3 drupal sites up. The only difference between the one I'm having trouble with and the others is that this one is a subdomain.

In reading the problems some say it has to do with the server, or PHP, or a firewall, but I wouldn't think that would be the case since it doesn't effect all the sites. When I deleted the cookies that didn't fix the problem either. I've added a code:
$GLOBALS['tempUser'] = $user;
to the end of the index file but that didn't work either.

I am SO lost.

upgrade first

The first thing I would do is upgrade to drupal 5.2. It's the most recent release and a bug fixing release.
