Calendar page formatted incorrectly in IE & Safari

Just switched over from using the Events module to using the Calendar & Date modules for our churches website. In Firefox the calendar page looks fine, but in Safari and Internet Explorer the formatting appears off. I'll post a link at the end so you can see for yourself, but basically it seems as though the section above the calendar that has three lines, one is an input box to enter a date, the second is a line showing the correct format of the date, and the third is a button that says "change date". In Safari, those three lines extend out past the fixed width of the page. In IE it's even worse. Any ideas on how to fix this?

*UPDATE*

I'd also settle to remove the section altogether. I don't really see what use it is anyway, I'd be content to have those three lines gone.

*UPDATE*

Through trial and error, I think I managed to figure out how to remove the section altogether. I messed with Firebug and found the section in the calendar.css file that dealt with those lines. Then I added an extra line of code that said

display: none

That seems to have worked to make those lines go away. Does anyone know if that was the best way to handle things or not?
