Good Church Help Site?

Hey G&G community!

Does anyone know of a good online site where church's can post their tech needs and the tech-savy (particularly those that are members) can try to help out?

Typical scenario I was thinking about:
- Church secretary finds that he keeps going through laser toner cartridges like crazy and needs some good tips on care and maintenance (or a new source of cartridges)
- Youth director is looking to create a DVD to pass around, but she realize she has no idea how to create it, let alone what she really wants.

It feels like there should be something out there already, but I haven't had Google-success... I'm thinking this would be a local servant opportunity rather than helping cross-country (but anythings possible!).

Anyone seen a website like this?

Thanks!

I smell....

I smell a pet project coming on....churchtechhelp.com? Maybe I should buy that! Anyone wanna set this up and help maintain it if there's not something better?

This would be super easy to setup (it's basically just a BBS system)...it's building enough of a community to help that would be the struggle....It would be awesome if this already existed! I like this idea...

Clueless...

Ok... I just went over there am a little clueless.

How would I as a church worker post a help request to just "qualified" or only my church congregation? Would they get a notification?

How would I as a congregation member be able to see only the needs of my church and surrounding area?

Dropping right into a forums "swimming pool" is always difficult for me... maybe that's my problem, I've not a big subscriber to the modern BBS.

Phil - do you find this helpful for your church?

Depends on your need

It all depends on what you are trying to do or the help you need. There are forums for everything imagineable... Worship Software, Audio, Video, etc. You just post wherever your topic fits best and others will chime in and try to help you out.

Good... but...

Thanks for the comment Phil.

I was thinking more in terms of a per church/ministry context.

I already mentioned that I personally find it difficult to search and find answers in an open forum format. I typically don't use a free-forum for my searches because of the unqualified and cluttered nature of a BBS. Often one post to a forum topic can be totally unrelated to the discussion, just someone creating noise...

Do you know of a different type of site that allows an "owner" of a specific issue the ability to post a problem and then email people that he/she thinks are relevant and let them post back? That's the kind of flavor I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Ahh

Not sure about that. This seems like a pretty helpful place, although less traffic.
