Hey guys, I wanted to know how I can get some good power point backgrounds. We use the power point for our Praise and Worship and our Pastor puts his messages on power point as well.
I was wondering if anybody knows of any FREE power point backgrounds or i think they are called TEMPLATES...
We have some lame ones...like for the praise and worship, we have some that have musical notes on them that look terrible...any ideas on how to make some or do you guys have any that you can email me noahvinny@yahoo.com
I don't know, we are just trying to revamp everything at our church? SO we won't be so old fashion....

I can recommend two sites for background images. Both contain lots of FREE (and legal) images for use on and offline and they are easily importable into PowerPoint.
Most PowerPoint templates look dreadful, so do yourself a favour and get a little creative - start by taking an existing presentation and changing the background image, maybe alter the text colour so you get a nice contrast too.

There are some great graphics on the slides there.
I think most people who do presentations are just not very good at it. Of course my opinion is based on the corporate world where I have attended well over 100 presentations in the last year alone.

One Key Problem
I was taking a quick look around the flickr group and found a huge problem. Many of the images in the groups are marked All Rights Reserved. This means you can't just legally take and use them. In fact, flickr works some magic to try and stop you from taking them. You don't have the right.
Luckily, the largest contributor to the group opens them up to non-commercial use so those are free to use.
If we are being careful with copyright we really should check the copyright of the images we are using and sharing.

Up to the user...
I have a feeling this is not because people don't want their images shared, but because they don't know how to change that setting on flickr.
We lay out clearly that any image posted in there is for use by any church...otherwise folks wouldn't post their images (ie. there's no reason they'd post their own images there and then not want people to use them).
If you read the description of the group, it mentions copyright issues....but I think this problem is because of ignorance by the users, not because they don't want their images used.
