I'm really not sure. The event information needs to be made available to OG. I'm just not sure of any built in thing to do that. Good question....

The problem here (i think) is that the default content type that is produced by Event module doesn't actually work with Token module...therefore gives you no tokens to insert into an email This is a HUGE oversight, IMO.
I'm sure they'll figure this out in future versions. right now, there's Event Tokens module...however when I tried it, it didn't work. I ended up creating my own Event content type instead, so CCK would spit out the tokens.
Basically, the thinking is, if you have a token for some data (like start/end) you can insert this into mail messages, since Token is now used pretty universally for mail configuration. I'm not sure how this plays out in the real world, but right now, it doesn't matter..Event isn't doing tokens.

Thanks for your help.
Can you give me a quick run down on how you use OG on your site, and specifically how you've configured the notifications?
(EG: what content types can a user submit, what content types are notified about, and contrib modules used to help in the notification process, any troubles with notification?)
It'd really help with my creation of groups

I need some assistance with email notifications with OG.
I have an "event" content type which is the default content type coming with the event module.
When users are notified of a new event, I'd like them to be sent the start and end times.
In otherwise, can you customise notifications per content type, and can you insert fields such as the start time into them?
