Possible layout issues with G&G?

Not sure if this is intentional or just a layout problem that needs to be corrected. Text does not appear to be in the proper position
see here

A possible issue, no....

A possible layout issue... no... there IS a layout issue. Thanks for pointing that out. It's on the to do list to fix.

Shift-Refresh

Actually....
This problem is only in your mind...click your heels, shift-refresh your browser and whisper "there's no place like the Geeks&God homepage". If you do this (especially the shift-refresh your browser part) you'll see that it's fixed.

This is a product of me actually cleaning up the homepage yesterday. I put in new CSS and a new block, which all browsers won't refresh immediately....unless you force yours to with the shift key.

For me this is a frustrating part of updating a live site....but there's no way around it other than to look like your site sucks for a couple days until everyone's browser decides to dump it's CSS cache.

something you can do

There is actually something you can do...

We are using drupal css preprocessing. So, the css file is a random md5 hash. If you go into your files directory and the css directory in there and delete all the files new ones will be built with a new md5 hash.

This will mean the file name to the css in the page will be updated.

To balance this out you need to dump the page caching for all those anonymous users so those pages can be regenerated with with the new css files. To this you can turn off page caching and then turn it back on. Or, you can truncate the cache tables in the database. Or, there is a link in the devel block if you have that installed to clear the cache. Or, in Drupal 6 there is a button on the performance settings page.

That will do it right away for everyone.

Like magic

I repeated the words like you said and refreshed and WOW! The page is fixed. That is just too cool ;) If only a similar phrase will fix my car.
