Does anyone have a recommended module "recipe" for this need? I'm looking to create a calendar with prayer items associated with each day, then allow users to sign-up to receive an automated, daily email (at, say, 4AM) with the prayer items for that day enclosed. I'm already using calendar and date modules, so I'd like to go that route. I'm pretty comfortable with Views, so I'm imagining something involving a View with a filter for date = now. But I'm not sure how to trigger some sort of email processing to happen automatically each morning. Any suggestions?

It's a strange thing about determined seekers-after-wisdom that, no matter where they happen to be, they'll always seek that wisdom which is a long way off. Wisdom is one of the few things that looks bigger the further away it is.
Using notifications and messaging modules, I believe you can create a daily email to people who have subscribed to a certain "Prayer Item" content type.
