How can I achieve repeating event at different times?

Hi

I've been building a new site for a new community centre built by my church (www.fbccentre.com).

Some of the community groups which use the centre meet on regular days at different times and in different rooms.

Example

Boxercise
Tuesday 7.00pm Room A
Thursday 8.00pm Room B

Currently I have used Organic Groups for each of these groups and added a cck date field and a node ref field for the room. However this cannot handle the more complex example above. How would you guys approach this?

Take a look at Node Repeat

I think you'll find you can achieve what you want, although not exactly how you want to do it, with Node Repeat. You'll have to create a repeating event for each time/room combination but you can repeat them every week, every other week, etc.

Hope this helps,
Curt

Thanks Curt That module looks

Thanks Curt

That module looks like it will work. Would you then suggest allowing these new event content types to be posted to a group or would you use a node ref field to associate the two?

Kind regards

Probably Node Reference

Nick,

I really don't have any experience with OG. Therefore, I'd probably allow a node reference to a "parent" node for events. (When your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.)

Actually, I think you could go either way and it depends upon what your site/organization requires.

Advise you didn't ask for: I like the general looks of your site (and the facility, too!). The text in your footer is essentially unreadable because of a lack of contrast. I think your body text would read more comfortably if it was a little larger. Feel free to ignore any, or all, of these suggestions.

Good luck,
Curt

Hi Curt I'll have a go with

Hi Curt

I'll have a go with the module and see how I get on.

Thanks for your feedback on the site - there is still a lot I need to tweak and I will take on board your suggestions.

Thanks
Nick
