Making Organic Group Public to one Role

I'm in the process of setting up a Bible Study on our church website as an OG. Since this is the first one, we're going to make it private so our non-techie people can get a feel for how it works. Once we finish that short one, we're going to make the next one public.

We'd also like to create separate OG's for our various boards and committees.

A lot of those OG's will be irrelevant to visitors (and while our financial statements aren't secret, we don't consider it appropriate to publicize them).

So we want to make these OG's visible to those with the "Member" role while not requiring all members to join each OG.

Is there a way to set a specific group to be visible to specific roles?

Multiple Mandatory Groups By Role

Pastor Dale,

You might want to look at the Multiple Mandatory Groups by Role module. With this module, if you add users to a specific role, they'll automatically become members of a specified group. This might be close to what you're trying to accomplish, and it's pretty easy to set up.

OK, I've been thinking about

OK, I've been thinking about this, and this is a good start. I'd still like to find a way to allow a certain role to view but not modify a given group.
