Has anyone here ever used or is using CushyCMS

http://www.cushycms.com

It's an awesome website for newbs and clients who want to update their own content without the use of an actual CMS like WP or TXP. What it does is you sign up for a free account(unless your going pro) and add the page on the website you designed with the ftp server info. You add

CODE
class="cushycms"

..to any area of your code that you would like/allow to be edited by the user(client) and then set up a user account. When they want to edit the content, they just log into CushyCMS with the credentials and then they can change whatever content they wanted that you added the class="cushcms" to. Simple enough right?

Great for users who haven't designed much for a CMS and who don't know much programming and perfect for non web savvy clients!

Let me know if anyone here uses it and let me know how it is.

I'm not using it for any commercial sites, but I've played around with it on and off for a month or so and it seems to work well. It will be interesting to see how they do and what further enhancements they come up with.

I have a friend who I

I have a friend who I designed http://nltts.com for and he went into the ftp server and started messing around with the photos in the gallery and eventually ruined the page. I had to go back and fix it, but something like this can prevent that. I will only use a free account for now, but I love it.

Don't think this app will prevent him going into the server via FTP and messing around like before. However, it is very easy to setup and use and does the trick for a simple CMS. I need to play around some more and see if more complex tasks can be done... like image uploading and calendars etc. I "don't think" right now cushy can handle some of these types of things, but then again, it's really designed to be a very simple CMS and I probably shouldn't be looking at it to accomplish tasks that a more robust CMS app handles.

Adrian, if you'd like to delve into this more contact me via PM and lets setup some testing trying to do more than just simple text editing of certain sections of a static page.

"It's also a hosted CMS".

That knocks any CMS off my consideration list.

I tested...

I did test this out a few months ago and it works wonders on a simple html based website. This is great especially when you want to give control to your clients over their own websites.

if you have not looked into it do so you will not be disappointed.

great
