Anyone know of or use Sermon Companion?

Hi all,

My pastor heard about, and asked me to look in to, Sermon Companion. On the surface, it looks like it will be pretty decent. But my concern is that he heard about it via an unsolicited email to one of his colleagues. Besides being unsolicited, the email was full of marketing speak. Looking through the website, I don't see anything wrong with it, but I wanted to find out if any of you had ever heard of or used the service.

Thanks,
Jim

no

No, but we use and are big fans of Sermon.net. I did some research lately on the different packages and apps out there. This one still seems to be on the top.

For our example....

Thanks a lot for your input.

Thanks a lot for your input. I do know of Sermon.net as my friend, John, a fellow church member and web developer, uses it and had set up an account for our church. I am not even sure why my pastor wanted us to look into it given that background.

Given your recommendation and our existing account, I think will dig into Sermon.net and take a look, then get back to him.

Thanks,
Jim

I'm still researching for an audio/video uploading provider

Hi TB,

What do you like about Sermon.net?

Also, Jim - I would be interested in hearing how you like Sermon.net as well. They seem to be one of the better options that I was looking at.

Reason I ask, is because our church is looking for a vidoe/audio uploading service provider to use to archive sermon audio and video online and build our own little collection, if you will. I came across sermon drop, sermon network, sermon companion, and sermonaudio and I am stuck between all of these services. SermonAudio may or may not use us, as our church is not 100% reformed and they have rules against that I guess.

sermon drop looks decent, but features seemed to be lacking compared to sermon companion and sermon network. sermon network has the capability for live streaming, which is really cool. Comparing apples to apples between sermon companion and sermon network...sermon companion seems to be way cheaper. How much does it cost to use sermon network each month? It looks like it is relative based on the size of your church and the amount of bandwidth you use (i guess this factors in the amount of streaming and downloads people do online for your content?) sermon companion seems to be the lowest cost out of all of these providers where they offer one flat monthly fee with no additional costs. They dont have live broadcasting though, and that is something that we are interested in possibly.

let me know what your thoughts are with sermon network, the cost and how you like it.

I guess I could always test drive the two before we make a final decision, however, just curious to see if anyone knows the TRUE cost of sermon network, becasue it does look like a much more expensive service.

Thanks!

Brian

Sermon network

i did do some research on who all was out there, i am still convinced that when comparing price, size of company, support, etc....Sermon network wins. we have had a few interruptions, but they respond fast and have dedicated support that actually works there. in other words, it's not a one man show like some places are.

for us, it costs $25/mo since we added video. otherwise it would have been free.

any particular questions?

Thanks

Thanks for your help here.

What does their $25 package entail? Can I upload an unlimited amount of videos and auido sermons or is their a limit? Also, it looks like they will charge extra based on storage and delivery and size of my church. What is that all about?

50gb

i think it is 50gb of storage. when you take into account file size with compression, that's pretty good. we haven't even come close yet, although we are mainly using just audio. pound for pound, sermon.net seems solid. there are some others out there that are cheaper, but like i said, they are literal one-man-shows that will offer almost no support.
