Live video rules

Searched the forums, asked the Music guy at church and still don't have an answer.

We are going to begin playing around with ustream to broadcast our services online. Anyone know the rules(looking for an opinion and not legal advice ;) ) concerning doing this and copyrighted music used in services? I know you can record on Ustream also but we would only record the message and special events with no copyrighted stuff.

Or can someone point me to the legal references for this?

Thanks,

Chris

Music License

There are people here who can answer this better than me but....

Music is licensed and not bought. There are different licenses for different purposes. For example, to play it live and reprint the lyrics you typically only need something like a CCLI license. But, this license doesn't cover recording live video of the performance and distributing it.

You most likely need a license like http://www.copyrightsolver.com/WorshipCastLicense.... to cover your streaming.

Is this what your looking for?
