Projecting Chord Charts for the Worship Team

Hi all,

We are a fairly small (which means growing church) with a full band. Being in a slightly cramped facility, we are trying to do everything we can to maintain a clean and clutter free feel to the building. We have gone mostly wireless where we can, are in the process of suspending monitors (in-ears just do not have the appeal for us!) - don't worry, they are AE series JBLs.

Well, in this process, one thing keeps coming back as being difficult - doing away with stands and music on stage. Several members of the band are young and are not able to simply "memorize" the music. Also, we are constantly receiving new worship music for the Lord (awesome!). This brings me to the thought of projecting chords and lyrics to a separate screen in the back of the sanctuary. In the midst of this, we are considering replacing LiveWorship as our primary worship projection software.

So, any of you have any ideas? Is there anything that can display lyrics without chords on one projector and at the same time project the chords and lyrics on a separate feed?

If not, is there something that can do just the chord charts?

Thanks!

Got Drupal?

Hey joshuaajack, don't know if you're running Drupal, but this might help you out: http://drupal.org/project/chords

EasyWorship and MediaShout

EasyWorship and MediaShout both allow for different presentation and praise team outputs. Your hardware will need to support three outputs. I think SongShow Plus does this as well.

Update

Thanks for the comments. I am going to have to look into Drupal for more than just the chords, since it seems to be a continuous theme on G&G. As far as EasyWorship and Mediashout, this will require a platform change, which might be cost ineffective for us (which might need to be addressed as Apple increases market share, especially in the arena of digital arts). This idea might have to go to the back burner for the time being. Let's just say we use our current software very sparingly.

Just an update, I have had one of our programmers review OpensSong and they were not too forthcoming with positive information. I am really seeking God about this, because I am not sure how we as a body move forward with this aspect of ministry. We use the projection/media TONS, but with a growing church it becomes difficult to manage all media-related stuff as well as the ministry (important) stuff. I also serve as one of the teaching/ministry "leaders" at the church, so I am often in the pulpit and would like to really take a step back and do something completely revolutionary and "revelationary."

Thanks again, though, for the thoughts! Let's keep looking for a divine solution to how we use and influence the use of technology!

EasyWorship is PC-based

EasyWorship is PC-based, I thin they have finally released a Beta version for Mac, but that is about a year overdue as it is.
