OpenID and Gmail

Lewis,

Not sure if you mean on this site, or under Drupal in general, but the same answer would apply either way.

Unfortunately, Google has not yet made it easy to use a GMail address for OpenID. If you login to both Geeks and God (or the other Drupal site) and your GMail account, you can then use this URL as your OpenID:

https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id

Unfortunately, you must then remember this URL to use as your login every time, which is pretty obnoxious.

The problem in this case is Google, not Drupal. You can use a Yahoo! email address, or set up an account on another OpenID provider, such as www.myopenid.com.

<rant>I'm a little annoyed with MyOpenID.com right now. I have an account with them and was all set up to use browser-based certificates so I didn't have to enter a password at all from trusted browsers. However, I got a new workstation at work last week, so I needed to set up a new certificate, but apparently certificate generation is broken on their site right now. I suppose I could just break down and use Yahoo! as my OpenID provider, but I'm being stubborn about it.</rant>

Hope that clears things up a bit.

since openID is hard to

since openID is hard to setup. not all user known about OpenID. Do you think it's better to just use google and the login. Instead of OpenID.

Is there any module that connect to google?
I know one that is Google friend connect, but I can't used it to make a login

Google Friend Connect

I looked at the Google Friend Connect modules (one on Drupal.org and one on code.google.com) and it appears that neither of them are stable enough for production use.

I think OpenID will be a very good thing in the long run, but for now, the usability is terrible. Proprietary solutions like Facebook Connect are easier to use, but FB Connect requires you to create a FB app for each site where you want to use it, which makes it less practical from the implementation side, especially for a smaller site.
