In views, use the filter: nodetype = is one of = check both of the content types you want to include.
Then, make sure you select field instead of node, and included the fields you want to add.

still not working for me...
here is a screen shot of my settings in views...
not sure what i am doing rong...
i did what u told me and still nothing... now i get nothing showing up...
i went back to the original settings i had when i was able to see the announcements... and not events...
I'm not able to access your screen shot. I'm at work, so can't really take a look at my dev server right now to find the proper views settings. I'll try to figure it out tomorrow if I can.

i have two different date fields on different two different content types... one is a reapting event and the other is a not repeating event... the none reapeating event is using the announcements module content type... and the repeating event is using a content type that i created... i am trying to get both of them show on one main calendar... the reapeating event i am using is going to be used for birthdays and anniversaries... and because of that it does not have any body field. just a title date and menu settings... any1 can help with how i can get two different date type on two different content...
