there is, but it is one of the trickier things to do with action script. I would suggesting reading up with how action script handles xml, a lot of your questions will be answered:

Is there a way to import data from an RSS or XML and set some kind action script to different pieces of the content so it'll go to and play a movie clip.
Basically two events below a worship conference & the summit. What will happen is this data will be imported from a SQL database into some kind of feed or directly into flash, is their away we can apply action script to each individual event?
Such as
08/01/08 ........ Room 201 .............. Worship ministers conference
08/02/08 ......... Gym ......................... Leadership summit
