Flash to AVI

Alright, i saw a great looking flash intro the other day on Template Monster and thought it would look great for a dvd i'm doing to advertise for our church.

I noticed on adobe flash where i could save the flash piece as an avi however when i do, some of it seems to be left out or not working properly and the quality is terrible.

Is this even possible to do or was i just having a really "blonde" moment? lol

thanks

What file format?

What file format is the flash file on Template Monster... there are two .flv, and .swf. Anything that is .swf will look like crap on a DVD if you try to convert it, trust me! There are a bunch of programs out there that can convert .flv files into .avi files. The simplest way may be to upload the .flv file to a webserver somewhere and use http://www.zamzar.com to convert it.

The other option is http://www.vixy.net

They actually have a downloadable program that can do it on your desktop.

Please be aware that the actual resolution and encoding of the FLV file may make it look bad when converted to AVI. Also, the final fomrat of DVD is MPEG-Layer 2, so yet ANOTHER conversion will occur, making it look even worse! Forewarned is forearmed.

Blessings,
Tony
