I've decided to jump in and start digging in a bit into more flash programming. Up until now I've avoided flash for the most part, sticking mostly with PHP/MySQL (and some .NET and others). Early on I did some work in Swish and in the last year or two I've done the basics in flash but not any action scripting etc.
I've decided to give this a go and I'm going the Flex route. I dont plan on Flash becoming anything I excel in, but I would like to be able to develop a bit in Flex. I've orderd a Dummies book on Flex but I dont really know any actionscripting etc that i need. I just have the flex SDK and found a great way to use it free with http://flashdevelop.org/
So where do I start (besides the book)? Can anyone give me some guidance to getting started using flex but writing mostly mxml and/or actionscript code with Flash Develop?
Anyone else using Flex? Any insight or code examples you can offer would be great! Why did you go with Flex? Why not? Would like to hear all thoughts?
I'm always a fan of getting a book that walks through it. That tends to be much more effective than scouring the web looking for stuff. Especially, when you don't know what you don't know so you can't search for it.
