Help with CSS "quirks" on Mac Safari/Firefox browsers

I've been working with one of our other partners on the new SimpleLetter.com clothing website. We have a good portion of the pages complete, and I've done all of the work with divs, spans, etc and CSS stylesheets behind the scenes.

My designer partner is a sole Mac OSX user and is reporting some issues with the coding I've completed (which appears to work great in IE 6.0.2900.2180 and Firefox 1.5.0.4 on Windows XP Pro SP2)

Can any of you CSS gurus help figure out why on some reloads of the page on Mac OSX Firefox or Safari that the 3rd column of content is wrapping down to the next line below?

Here are some pages to check:

1. http://www.simpleletter.com/new-site/truth.php (column with article preview text in it wraps)

2. http://www.simpleletter.com/new-site/perspective.php (3rd column on the page wraps below)

3. http://www.simpleletter.com/new-site/perspective.php?id=5 (on any of the full article pages, sometimes the content will wrap to the next line)

4. http://www.simpleletter.com/new-site/shop.php (the sample images of shirts at the bottom in 4 column layout sometimes wraps)

Thanks for helping out, I'm quite stumped. The symptoms are really random, where a reload would usually fix things or a refresh tends to "right the ship again".

I fixed the issue by using

I fixed the issue by using "floats" instead of the [span] tag set to display:inline-block. We'll be launching the entire new site this coming weekend!
