Ie Png Problems....

I hate the fact that I only pop in here when I REALLY need help these days. I miss socializing here... but alas... youtube is my new love /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

OK, enough groveling... on to ba'weesness.

Im doing the development for this site: multichurchmovements.com. Man, has it been a learning experience! The site "launched" last sunday, and I am still scrambling to finish up the little bugs. The biggest issue I'm running into is IE PNG transparency compatibility. Seems I cant get ANYthing to work right to fix this.

I originally had the TwinHelix IE PNG fix applied. Worked with some of the images, but any PNG that is a DIV background vanishes.

Elliot (what a pal) pointed me to The 24ways.org Supersleight Fix. This is supposed to work without the problems the twinhelix of disappearing backgrounds. Buttt.... no such luck. Infact.... in IE my main menu becomes un-clickable after the page fully loads. NOT GOOD. /bigeyedsmiley.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bigeyed:" border="0" alt="bigeyedsmiley.png" />

For the life of me... I cant figure where I went wrong.

help.... /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":unsure:" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> anyone?.... /whistle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whist:" border="0" alt="whistle.gif" />

Thanks guys! Your the best!

Good luck, man. Your on your own!

I've tried all the hacks before on a site I did but ended up creating huge background images for IE. (see site)

I've found the IE PNG hacks to be hit or miss. I'd say it depends on the CSS and HTML, but I can't prove it. That's just my hunch.

I'd recommend you make it basic for IE6. What I usually do when I have a drop shadow or with a PNG image is to come up with a non-PNG alternative for use in IE6 and below only.

This one works for me in a div: - transparency in IE6 for a png:

CODE
div#floatdiv {display:block;padding:15px 0 0 0;z-index:9;position:absolute;right:0px;top:250px;width:166px;height:113px;text-align:center;border:none;filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='images/balloon.png',sizingMethod='scale'); }

PHp writes this in just for IE6
