In IE, there is a small but visible gap between the bottom edge of the banner graphics, and the bottom of the screen. If I put in a temporary border to the table, I can see that this is composed of two things - a perceptible gap below the table border, and a percentible gap between the bottom edge of the table cell and the table border itself.
Is there any way to close these up?
And also for some reason in IE, it is forcing a horizontal scroll bar.

This is not a big issue, but I wonder if there is a way round it.
On this page there are two graphics at the bottom right and left corners. They are in a table, so as to be able to position both of them as they are:
