Hello.

I've been talking to a friend who helps run a christian camp thing in Austria. Anyway, he was gonna manually sort out an email prayer list, and I know there's software available, so I offered to sort it out for him, and host it on my webspace.

Now, I've got Cpanel & fantastico, and can do some PHP stuff, but don't quite feel up to making my own.

I've installed PHPlist, but I can't seem to find the function I want.

I want my friend to be able to write his email in his normal email software (hotmail)
and to email it to a specific email: specific@domain.ext
From there, the script would send that message to everyone on the list.
And the software would manage all the database, allowing people to subscribe and such.

Basically, I want to know if this is possible and available for free.
I know it can be done through an online form, but I would like him just to be able to send it form hotmail.

Thanks in advance.

You need what is called an "auto responder". I have used phplist a bit, but I don't know if it has that functionality or not. (from looking at the site it seems it will be a paid add-on once enough donations have been made).

Mailman does - it should be available in your cpanel.

Hello.

I did have a go on tuesday, but the messages weren't getting through.

Anyway, now I've ticked a little box, and the messages all work /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Thanks for the reccommendation!
It should be good.
