Another small subdomain enquiry - relating to web address

Hi guys
I've not used an SD before of this type hence my query. I already have a website into which I have uploaded my Wordpress blog to a subfolder. Now I'm trying to find the best way to go about the SD to keep the naming right as far as possible. IF I buy a new domain related to the blog e.g. ELU (abbreviation of its name) and point it to that subfolder, will the final web address become www.elu.co.uk for e.g. or is it going to have to be www.elu.website.co.uk?? If it's the latter then obviously there's little point in my bothering to buy a domain name as I can redirect it easily within the Cpanel as it stands now, but ideally I want to have the blog keep its own name without it having to be tagged onto my website, and equally don't want to have to pay out for another server to host it on, as I'm already on an unlimited plan and can't afford a 2nd plan no matter how cheap it might be.

Hope all that makes sense ok - I'm on multiple pain meds just now, and also have a migraine to boot, so I've been told I'm managing to confuse everyone very easily whatever I write to them!!

Thanks :)

Yes, you can.

Add the new domain as an add-on domain to your account. The files will live in a subfolder, but the domain will be correct (for example, elu.co.uk would work in it's own right. The files for that site would point to website.co.uk/elu, but you'd not need to know that).

Your host should be able to tell you the best way to do it for their systems..
