All the stuff at http://churchbeauty.com/ and http://godbit.com/featured/ /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
I think it would be really cool if someone wanted to comb our old threads to make a list of great church websites.
Also, we can add more to the list here.
Eventually, we can compile the list and I would post them on the CWM home page.
In Christ,
Sean
Just a piece of constructive criticism:
There is no way to turn off the audio on that site without muting the whole computer. That's not user-friendly, IMHO.

It is there - click on the links at the top of the page 'SOUND HI LO OFF'. Many visitors may try the escape key and not notice the links
Amazing design.

Wow. To be honest, it makes me feel dizzy, and hurts my eyes. But I can see where your coming from. Just not my style, and I can respect that.
I just found this awesome site
Proof that God exists
It not only is the best logic-orientated site I have found, but it also has a clean easy to follow layout and design.
But forget the layout - you have to read the site! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I see it in IE, but not in Firefox.

Strange the on/off buttons are in Flash and should be visible in IE & FF.
In either case, while it is there, it may not be visible enough. I will put that on my things-to-do list. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. If I had my way there would be no music at all.
By the way, Steve, please enlighten me on the "escape" key. Is that a standard "volume off" feature? I could put that into Flash, but (I hate to admit it) I have never heard of using escape to stop sounds.
Escape has always been the first key I hit whenever I enter a site that has a sound file attached to the background in IE <bgsound loop=value src=url>, it should stop the sound. If that doesn't work, I start looking for the onscreen controls to stop the sound, which hopefully exist.
BTW - I can see the sound controls in both IE and FF

Ahh--a Windows thing. The sound is in Flash, but I believe I can assign "ESC" to stop all sounds. I'll look into that. Is that common knowledge for PC users?
This got stuck in my head a long time ago and it still comes in handy for all those sites that have something playing right away when the page loads (and you usually have your sound cranked up). Here's a page with several methods to add sounds - the only one where escape doesn't work is when Media Player fires up separately
Thank you for showing us this site. I really like it.
Amazing design.
pretty good! needs a different font though
Here is another church site:
And here is a singles ministry site (church withing a church, maybe?):

Great site but, if i may say, it has a load time on my 10mbps connection of approximately 5 seconds (that was on my first time visit so i had no cache from the site... on the second visit it, of course, loaded way faster). IMHO, load times should be kept to a minimum, or at least make sure the information on the site gets loaded first and then the graphics can catch up. If it was 5 seconds on a 10mbps connection, then it will probably be a lot longer on slower connections. Just a pointer.
Never assume that there is common technical knowledge amongst your audience. I once made that mistake with my church's website...
Let's make a list of outstanding church sites... I'll start:
