so you like the div's eh...and not the tables...i can understand that.
you photography makes your site as far as i can tell.
for some reason the rollovers weren't quite so quick...not sure why. you should probably have them pre-loaded...cuz i know you want "faster page loads."
your css is good. perhaps you shouldn't be complaining about the "browsers" these days to get with it...even if the browsers do...it'll take even longer for everyone else to get with it.
All-in-all your home page is nice, you could perhaps be a bit more concise on your "What is RxGx" - One crazy Kid....that doesn't cut it. However, this is not to say that you shouldn't lose your flare. That is everything you have going for you...uh...i mean...not every-everything...but you know what i mean.
you have "digital media" and "web needs" displayed on the same page...what is this site for?
Your motto: "“Flexible Communication through Creative Solutions.”" that should probably be on your home page as well as the place you already have it.
Your site is very true to your own motto which i like...it is very creative and felxible. I love the simplicity of it in general. Ease of navigation and appealing to the eye.
Good job Rx
Yeah, the image rollovers are not efficient right now because I am using onRollOver and onRollOut. I am working on the "efficient css rollover method" from Pixy.
I haven't decided what to do with the front page yet. I could put my blog there. However, I am not a socialist so I post all my thoughts, even if they aren't politically correct.
As for browsers, IE stinks, but does it seem like I am complaining about them? I really don't complain as much as browsers than I do about Flash intros, splash pages, or tables. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
I have really liked using css rollovers. They respond more quickly, are easier to code, and are more compatible with browsers.
I have a very basic example of a popping buttons using css here
When I say basic, I really mean basic.
But, it is an interesting example of something I wrote up for a project a while back.
Yeah, that's slick. I hadn't approached rollovers like that before. Took me a second for my slow brain to process, but that's nice. I'll definitely plan to play with that. Thanks!

You don't need to use the div tags for most effects. It is just that some browsers did not respect the size changes in a tags or spans. THen, of course, using div tags meant that I needed a table to hold them in place. Now it works in most browsers and does not look bad in the ones where it does not work.
Site is now live!
I knocked out the mail forms and created redirect pages. Next step is to organize my categories up front. Hopefully there's no major flaws I missed.
The problem is that this is supposed to be my personal site, but I went too professional. That's why I'm not worried about the 800x600 users and used a width of 900px.
I actually have a few new layouts I drawn up, but they're all professional too. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
Very nice, Ryan. I like the site a lot.... in fact, I saw your site and Bill Gate's newly-redone wibsite on the same day (that's always dangerous) and I have some wild thoughts on how I'm gonna mesh the two into a new site for me... *hehe* This should be interesting.....
The move from the images to the CSS rollovers greatly improved usablility. Nice touch.
Blessings,
Luke
I was going to make a site out of the current page, however, I finally have a site near completion.
http://www.rxgx.com
Things I still need to do. I will warn you that the index page has a large graphic file.
(1) Find something to do with index page.
(2) Script out the email forms.
(3) Structure the portfolio pages. (urg! tables!)
(4) Code the links for the footer.
(5) Optimize the rollOver menu.
(6) Get permission from the photo owners.
