Hello,
We use Pro Presenter and it is very nice. I am pretty sure they are coming out with a Windows version too. I am a MacHead (bias here), but I will say that Macs are much easier to support. They can break down like PCs (hardware), but if you have an AppleStore close by it is as simple as scheduling an appt to have it worked on.. Get AppleCare too! On the software side, we have very few problems and still no viruses and malware (crossing fingers as this will not last forever).
As far as Pro Presenter, it is easy to use. we have literally trained many folks in 5-10 minutes to run a service. It is pretty easy once you have your backgrounds library configured and a general workflow down.. I can't speak to comparisons of MediaShout. You can download Pro Presenter and demo it. I recommend doing that so you can evaluate it..
Thanks!
Shrop
Hey suze1107,
I can't speak to presentation software, but like Shrop, I have a clear bias towards Macs.
To be fair, PCs have the edge with:
• Lower initial cost
• Greater software selection
• Hardware is more swappable
But I would rather use a Mac because:
• Using OSX is a much more intuitive experience
• Macs are less prone to viruses/crashes and they seem to "work better"
• Macs ship with cool software instead lots of junk I want to delete
• It's easy to get to the command line
• I've had great experiences at AppleStores and with AppleCare support
You might want to check out the Mac vs. PC episode of the podcast.
Blessings!

Small church - less than 200 people. All volunteers. Our techie "staff" are people I've recruited and trained with little to no tech background. We've been using MediaShout for a few years with a PC and I actually really like it. But it's time to upgrade our computer. We're considering switching to a Mac, primarily for ease of use, less glitches, more video production use, etc. But we can't use MediaShout - they still haven't made that for Macs yet. We need our presentation software to be simple and reliable. Considering ProPresenter. Whatever we get, it needs to be easy to use for our volunteers, fairly easy to train, flexible. I love the song builder and Scripture library in MS, and we display video clips, DVDs or portions of DVDs, slides, background video loops, Bible verses, websites. We don't have cameras (yet) - maybe someday.
Suggestions? Mac or PC? Presentation software?
