Creating an Upcoming Event List in Drupal

User Rating:

Average: 4.7 (20 votes)

This video tutorial picks up where I left off last time after creating and configuring a Calendar on our Drupal website.
Here, we add an Upcoming Events block to the website to show a list of upcoming events from the Calendar.
This tutorial uses the following modules:
Calendar Module 6.x-2.2 (not actually required, but I use the default calendar view upcoming display as a starting point.)
Date Module 6.x-2.3
CCK 6.x-2.5
Views 6.x-2.6

A couple of the key configuration settings shown are:
Creating and using custom date formats
Grouping Items in a List View
Enabling a block to show on your Drupal website.

Very informative tutorial!

Great job and thanks for the tutorial, really helped me out a lot. Just wondering, how do you set the event link to do a popup? for example when you click on the calendar events it shows a popup.

JSCalendar Popup

Great tutorial! In reply to the question about popup - with the latest cck, date, calendar modules you'll get a "Text Field with jquery pop-up calendar" widget as the field option for your event content type's date field.

2 date fields?

Any idea how to sort by two dates fields simultaneously? As it is right now I can only sort one date on top of the other as opposed to sorting two date fields together.

Now:
Field Type 1 Date 1
Field Type 1 Date 2
Field Type 1 Date 3
Field Type 2 Date 1
Field Type 2 Date 2
Field Type 3 Date 3

Needed:
Field Type 1 Date 1
Field Type 2 Date 1
Field Type 1 Date 2
Field Type 2 Date 2
Field Type 1 Date 3
Field Type 2 Date 3

Thanks!

Oh, God bless you for this
