G&G has been highlighted by Smashing Magazine in their list of Useful Podcasts for Designers and Developers
http://www.smashingmagazine.co...
Bob Christenson (Rob Feature on the podcast) and Matt Farina are the hosts of the show. These guys are both upbeat. They plan the show well, and it moves along at a quick pace. There is a community built around the forum of the site as well. The show is aimed at church ministries, but the information covered is often applicable to any website. Rob and Matt are well versed in website design and development. They give practical advice on the nuances of web design, building websites, and running web communities.
Nice job guys!
Now we'll have to really pray that you stay humble!
If you are looking for some joomla thoughts, you might contact Andrew Mitry - who just converted their church website from a joomla site to a drupal site.

He would probably be biased toward Drupal - but he would also have some real Joomla experience to bring to the table too.
Here's some good examples of ways the church is using internet technology.
Any others you've seen that you'd like to highlight?
GodBlogCon ( http://www.godblogcon.com/ )
- Conference specifically for 'Helping Christians Engage the New Media'
DesiringGodMinistries ( http://www.desiringgod.org/Res... )
- they have a MASSIVE amount of resources - but the part I find interesting is the many ways they have of packaging these resources for online consumption:
- weekly sermons
- daily sermons
- radio broadcast
- index by topic, author, language, title
- study guides
- interviews
- reference desk
- 4 podcasts
- 3 videocasts
- 2 YouTube channels
- 4 RSS Feeds
- Email subscription
World Magazine - Web Version ( http://www.worldontheweb.com/ )
- print magazine that has create a completely separate online version - with many more articles - and integrated with it's blog.
- I have not seen too many print magazines create a complete online edition + community like this
The template was done by a graphic designer (they are worth every penny!) - but I've recently converted the whole thing from static files to Drupal.
There are a few rough edges, so let me know where they are.
I just read the thread on splash pages and I'll have to see if I can sell some of those ideas to our Sr. pastor - who is the one who wanted our splash page.
Thanks,
Steve Truesdale
I'm looking for a standard set of logos to put on each announcement we put on an announcements web page.
I'd like to find a set of logos that have a similar theme, but can be different for the various categories of announcements.
Is there a name for something like this? Any recommended places to find these on the web?
Thanks,
Steve Truesdale
Sorry to be so late to this party, but I finally have a bit of time to write in.
Here's a link to a great, thought-provoking article on the hows and whys of blogging that I would recommend.
