Biography

I work full time as a software engineer programming mostly in Java using the Spring framework. I contribute a little html/css. On the side I manage a few different web sites. I just upgraded my personal domain to use Drupal and am in the process of upgrading our church web site to include Drupal and be more interactive.

Thanks for all the help G&G - you've helped me grow as a web developer and I am thankful for that. Keep up the good work!

The picture, although looks fake, is taken by my wife on our honeymoon on the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. This was a great trip and very relaxing.

  • Podcast recording setup?

Hey there. A couple pastors in the local area are interested in starting a recording a regular segment for an internet radio program. I currently help out with recording the sermon and bible study using a Yamaha Pocketrak 2G. The audio is great for the sermon as the Pastor wears a simple lavalier mic. The bible study recording is ok, but we set the device in the middle of the room so it's not as crisp.

There are so many compelling reasons to record band rehearsals or music lessons for later review that a portable recorder is an essential item. Recording conferences and meetings has become a matter of course too. Naturally, the smaller and lighter that recorder is, while delivering top-class sound quality, the better. Weighing only 1.7 ounces (49 grams) complete with battery, the Yamaha POCKETRAK 2G Pocket Recorder is an unbeatable choice. It only a half-inch (13 millimeters) thick and will slip unobtrusively into a shirt pocket.

  • Drupal Intro Video

Here's a good intro video on Drupal by one of the developers (she now works for lullabot). It's a nice high level overview with some screenshots and examples. I've listened to the Drupal series here and found this a good supplement to visually see the different modules in action.
