After a lot of research and foot-dragging, I just moved one my sites over to Media Temple (gs service) and things seem to be working fine. I also just discovered how many other sites share the same IP address. Even more appalling, my other sites are still with a different hosting company where they share the same ip with a huge number of sites.

Must I move to a dv server to get a dedicated ip? Should I even concern myself with this?

What exactly is provided with Media Temple DV, and what will I need to add on my own? I read the review and some other comments on the service, and it looks promising. But this is new to me, since I've always used shared hosting.

Shared hosting has plenty of drawbacks, but everything is provided for me, so that I simply upload my site or sites and I'm done. What must I know and do to get going with a virtual server?

I started a website a few years ago where I offer free Christian graphics. I was using FrontPage, since I'm not really a web developer. Now the site is getting larger, and I need to add more content, plus the whole thing needs a new structure. You can see the site at www.GospelGifs.com

I still use FP and sometimes Expression Web (FP upgraded), and adjust the code when I see a problem. But a static site and structure is becoming a problem in itself. Or maybe it's my brain that needs a new understanding of how to make a static site work.

I develop simple graphics for use in online witness. Mostly still images with various gospel messages, and some animated images. I also do backgrounds. You can see the work on www.GospelGifs.com and www.BestFreeChristian.com. All are free to download and use.
