My first computer experience was an Apple II with a Tasman Turtle and the Logo language. Throughout my Geek journey I have owned an Commodore 64, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000, Mac 128k, IBM Thinkpad and now a iMac. QueryPath is a PHP library for manipulating XML and HTML. It is designed to work not only with local files, but also with web services and database resources. It implements much of the jQuery interface, but it is heavily tuned for server-side use.
In this demo, QueryPath uses OpenAmplify and four other web services to take a starting article and collect related content from around the web. SVG, autotagging, Flickr, Twitter, Technorati, and Amazon integration are all discussed in this 8 minute screencast.
While the web is a great place for communicating with the outside world, it can often also be useful to post content online that only a select group of people can access. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to set up a type of content that can only be viewed by users in a certain role. In the process, we'll take a look at Drupal's permissions system as well as its CCK (content creation kit) module.

Picasa is free downloadable software from Google that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC or Mac.
Each time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visually organized albums. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups of photos.
The very cool, sleek and fast online image editor, named Pixlr is spectacular. The first thing you will notice is how extremely fast Pixlr is to load. It loaded FAST, real FAST! Its hard to believe its online, photoshop takes longer and its stored locally!
The interface is very comfortable to anyone who has used any kind of image editing software. The tool bars on the left and on the right are reminiscent of Photoshop's toolbar - only they are a lot simpler and with fewer functions.
