I checked back on this site after being gone for a while and was impressed with what they are doing.

Sort of how G&G is for Drupal, WEC is for Typo3.

Typo3 is another CMS - it seems to be very powerful - like Drupal, but doesn't appear quite as flexible.

But WEC seems to do be doing much the same as G&G - developing extensions to add to the community, creating tutorials to help users and developers - even hosting the 1st ever Typo3 conference in the US!

G&G has been highlighted by Smashing Magazine in their list of Useful Podcasts for Designers and Developers

Bob Christenson (Rob Feature on the podcast) and Matt Farina are the hosts of the show. These guys are both upbeat. They plan the show well, and it moves along at a quick pace. There is a community built around the forum of the site as well. The show is aimed at church ministries, but the information covered is often applicable to any website. Rob and Matt are well versed in website design and development. They give practical advice on the nuances of web design, building websites, and running web communities.

If you are looking for some joomla thoughts, you might contact Andrew Mitry - who just converted their church website from a joomla site to a drupal site.

He would probably be biased toward Drupal - but he would also have some real Joomla experience to bring to the table too.

- print magazine that has create a completely separate online version - with many more articles - and integrated with it's blog.
- I have not seen too many print magazines create a complete online edition + community like this

The template was done by a graphic designer (they are worth every penny!) - but I've recently converted the whole thing from static files to Drupal.

There are a few rough edges, so let me know where they are.

I just read the thread on splash pages and I'll have to see if I can sell some of those ideas to our Sr. pastor - who is the one who wanted our splash page.
